Wickham Park Wedding with Cathy & Jon | Manchester, CT
This Wickham Park wedding with Cathy & Jon was so awesome! You might remember them from their Portland engagement session. Cathy found me on Offbeat Bride and I was excited about their wedding right away! She told me all about how her and Jon met while they were both attending Savannah College of Art and Design, where Cathy was a photography major and Jon was a motion graphic and graphic design major. They got together after Cathy returned to SCAD after leaving for a short time, and have been together ever since — about 10 years at the time of their wedding! They were living in Connecticut so Cathy could attend grad school and decided to get married there at Wickham Park in Manchester, which is a stunning spot with an amazing view of downtown Hartford. I loved that they both really dove in to the planning and execution of the day — Cathy used her passion for fiber to make her own felted bouquet (eee!) as well as some wool balls for use in the centerpieces, and she folded up 1,000 paper cranes for their outdoor archway. Jon also designed the favors for everyone, prints including lyrics from a favorite song of theirs, “Everlong” by the Foo Fighters (which Cathy’s cousin played and sang during the ceremony — it was amazing). Just an awesome day all around!
