Wedding at Grace Restaurant in Portland, Maine | Rosalind & Tim!
This wedding at Grace Restaurant in Portland, Maine was the perfect blend of classy and just damn fun! When Rosalind first got in touch with me, I couldn’t help but laugh (and blush, a lot) at her initial e-mail, which said “Looking for a wedding photographer was such a drag until I found your site. Your bright, happy, and fun photographs capture the attitude that I hope our wedding will have, but that I haven’t been able to put into words.” I mean, does it get any better than that??? Her and Tim live in Brooklyn but they have deep roots in Portland — they both love it here (who doesn’t!?) and Tim grew up in Scarborough before making his way to NYC. Rosalind actually grew up in Massachusetts, but they still have a fun connection there, too: Tim’s dad grew up in the very same neighborhood in Boston as Rosalind’s mom, and they even worked at the same grocery store! They loved the idea of sort of “taking over the city” with their wedding celebration, so Grace Restaurant was an obvious choice, both for its stunning presence and for its convenient location! I loved that they incorporated so many of their loved ones into the day in various ways: Tim’s brother and his fiancé, both students at MECA, designed their Save the Dates. Tim’s cousin officiated the ceremony. Rosemary’s dad did a welcome speech for their guests. Tim’s two younger brothers were co-best men, and did an awesome toast together. It was just obvious that they wanted the people in their lives to feel important and included, which is awesome! They had their ceremony in the Great Room downstairs, with an upstairs reception, and the whole day was so beautiful!
