Wedding at Caswell Farm in Gray, Maine

This wedding at Caswell Farm in Gray, Maine was magical — live music, comedians, bonfires, cupcakes, food trucks, what more could you ask for? These two were referred to me by a colleague and friend of mine (thank you, Tricia!) and told me about their reception plans. They were going fairly untraditional with their plans — they didn’t even do a ceremony, just went right to the mingling and fun! — and wanted a “creative, talented, queer-friendly” photographer to be there to capture the fun in a more candid, documentary-style. I was so honored that they considered me to fit the bill! They chose Caswell Farm in Gray and I think it really worked for their laid-back style — they weren’t looking for anything too formal, and both the owner of the farm and the layout made it super easy for people to come and go, flow inside and out, and just mingle wherever they felt right! We did family photos first thing, which helped to get really the only structured part of the day out of the way (but we kept those casual, too!). Then they just mingled with their friends and ate from one of the two amazing food trucks on hand before heading into the barn for an amazing lineup of both comedy and music. Rachel is a comedian and Lana is a musician (she’s in Caveboy, an incredible indie pop group from Montreal), so entertainment was AMPLE and it knocked all of our socks off, truly. I was so honored to be present for such an incredible day!
