Testarossa Winery Wedding in Los Gatos, California

This Testarossa Winery wedding in Los Gatos, California, was such a wild and crazy day — we loved every minute! Alix found me on A Practical Wedding and even though I live across the country from where their wedding was taking place — literally as far across as it gets with me being in Maine — she said she looked at a number of photographers’ portfolios and just kept coming back to mine. Such a huge compliment! Her and Andrew live in the DC area but Alix’s family is in Los Gatos so they decided that since their family and friends were scattered across the country anyway, why not get married in California? I absolutely LOVE to travel, and do so often, so I was THRILLED at the idea of heading out there, especially once I realized how freaking cool Alix and Andrew are (like, the coolest, weirdest, most awesome couple ever). My husband and I ended up making a trip out of it, spending time in San Francisco before heading to Los Gatos for their engagement session (where we got to see how truly incredible these two are) and wedding. The day was perfectly laid-back and just fun in the most simple, non-frilly way. Alix got ready with some of her best friends at the Toll House Hotel and Andrew got ready at her mother’s home (literally down the road from the venue) then we all headed to Testarossa Winery for an amazing wine cellar ceremony, portraits outside (lit by twinkling lights and dotted with flowers and ivy), and then the most casual, relaxed reception ever (with grab-and-go food and live music). It fit them perfectly and was such a fun day, and trip!
