Stone Mountain Arts Center Wedding | Shauna & Max! | Brownfield, ME
This Stone Mountain Arts Center wedding was the perfect mix of rustic and artistic, with a focus on family and friends having fun! You might remember them from their sunrise engagement session on the Brooklyn Bridge. 🙂 These two met in New York City while they were both in graduate school, so it seemed appropriate to do their engagement session not only in the city that they live but the city that they met in! Max is a native New Yorker (Shauna is Jamaican-Canadian), but his grandfather has a house on Kezar Lake in Lovell, Maine. He had been visiting in the summers since he was a kid, and visiting with Shauna since they started dating, so Maine was a quick choice for them not only for the memories but for its rugged beauty. Shauna told me about how relaxed and laid-back they wanted their day to be — “we’re thinking about the wedding as more of a family reunion and a big party, rather than just ‘our day'” — and I think they succeeded! They chose Stone Mountain Arts Center in Brownfield and I think it truly encompassed the raw beauty of this amazing state as well as the intimacy they wanted to create for their guests. The day was filled with delicious food, joyful people, and many happy tears (some shed by me…). 🙂
