Melissa + Scott | Married! 10.29.11 | Hope Artiste Village Wedding | Rhode Island Wedding Photographer
This is Melissa & Scott! When Melissa first contacted me (in June, only about 4 months before the wedding!), she described the wedding of my dreams. Held in a quirky, awesome venue; lots of DIY details; a DJ willing to play a mix of 80’s, soul, and whatever else they wanted; invitations from Etsy with records on them; margaritas; make-your-own fajitas; cupcakes… basically, I couldn’t say YES fast enough! The day itself was amazing. It started raining/snowing right when we arrived, so there was this unexpectedly cozy atmosphere for the whole evening. The Hope Artiste Village in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, is one of my favorite wedding spots. It’s one of the largest successful mill restoration projects in Rhode Island, and is now “a hub of cultural activity fostering collaboration and innovation among a diverse community of creatives and professionals” (taken from their Facebook page). The Greenhouse is where they typically host events, and it is gorgeous — high ceilings, exposed brick, hardwoood floors, and a very interesting look that is a combination of rustic, artistic, and industrial. I love it. Melissa & Scott really made it their own — from their handmade paper flowers to their music-themed invitation to their Halloween candy table, it was AWESOME.
