Meg + Carrie | Married! 07.14.12 | East Derry, New Hampshire Wedding | New Hampshire Wedding Photographer
This is Meg & Carrie! Words can’t even describe how awesome they are. Meg contacted me back in June of 2011 and from the first e-mail I knew we’d get along! She mentioned that her and Carrie are both amateur photographers, so having really rockin’ photos was high on their list of priorities. I always love that! Fate was also totally at play here. Their original wedding date was June 16th, 2012 — MY BIRTHDAY — and while I am normally hesitant to work on my birthday, I put that aside for the chance to work with them. As it turns out, they ended up needing to push the date back a month to July 14th, so I got my no-work birthday AND their amazing wedding! WIN-WIN!! They were married at Meg’s father’s house in East Derry, New Hampshire. We did their First Look photos in the front yard, and then headed to the back. The backyard was HUGE, so they had the ceremony in one spot, and the reception tent was set up further back (along with the cutest outdoor dance floor!). I loved how they did their ceremony: the wedding party came up first, and they had their guests line up and form a walkway between them. Meg & Carrie then came through and interacted with each guest, handing them one of the rings for a ring warming before it started. It was very unique, and a great way for them to sort of “greet” their guests, and spent a few moments with each. The ceremony was short and sweet (and very emotional!), and we spent very little time afterwards doing portraits — they wanted to get to the party! The whole reception was carnival-themed, with a big emphasis on FUN — amazing colors, lawn games, mad libs, a homemade photo “booth”, strings of lights, pinwheels, and one of their bridesmaids even made the typical carnival posters, with each member of the wedding party as a different character (the bearded woman, the strong man, etc). AWESOME day!
