This is Meagan & Sage! Meagan found me on A Practical Wedding and as soon as I read her e-mail I knew we’d be a good match. In her description of how low-key the whole day would be, she mentioned “I mean, this is a marriage more than a wedding.” — and when she talked about why she was looking for a photographer, said “But I still want to look hot and have photographs to remember the occasion by”. Hell yes, woman! They were married in a super short, intimate ceremony right outside Portland’s City Hall — all of their guests stood in a circle around them and it was so sweet and genuine. We were able to very casually do some family and friend photos after the ceremony was done before heading to the East End for their cocktail hour. A friend volunteered his apartment for the occasion and it was perfect — intimate and laid-back. We then headed to Bar Lola for the reception — they rented out the whole restaurant, which was great. Everyone could enjoy cocktails at their leisure and order right off the menu for dinner. Perfection! FYI, Bar Lola is actually closed now (as of November 2013), but they started a new venture, Lolita, in June of 2014!
