This is Mary & James! Mary was referred to me by a friend (remember Tiff & Dave?), so I knew they were good people from the start! Mary is a South Carolina girl but James is from Massachusetts, so they plan to bring some Southern charm to their New England wedding. 😉 We decided to meet up at the Boston Public Gardens for their engagement session, on what was forecast to be just a cloudy and overcast day! As I waited for them, I saw the sky getting darker and darker. I naively thought to myself… it can’t rain! It was only a 20% chance of rain all day! Well, I was pretty freaking wrong! Literally the MINUTE we crossed the street to walk in the entrance to the gardens, it started sprinkling. We ran for cover under some trees and decided that we’d go ahead with the shoot as long as it didn’t DOWNPOUR. Lucky for us the Public Gardens are FILLED with trees, many of which are the low hanging variety, so we had lots of shelter from the storm. We shot for maybe an hour before it did decide to downpour, at which point we ran the heck out of there… but I think we got some awesome shots while we had the chance. 😉
