Heather + Donny | Married! 07.26.14 | Johnson Field Wedding | Bailey Island Library Hall Wedding

This is Heather & Donny! These two, and their wedding day, are SO right up my alley. A music teacher (Donny) and a science graduate student (Heather), both very outdoorsy, into good beer and good food, and planning a wedding that is, in Heather’s words, “fun, casual and not take it-self too seriously”. Yes! Heather’s parents have a house in South Harpswell and she had been going there for years in the summers, so the area was an obvious choice for them. They chose Johnson Field for their ceremony — a stunning spot overlooking Mackerel Cove — and had their reception right up the hill at Bailey Island Library Hall — light, airy, and a perfect casual spot. The whole day just had this easy feel to it. The ceremony was full of laughter and yet heartfelt. They even did a beer toast (yay for swigging beer before you say “I do”!) and had their wedding party grab an instrument and lead them back up the aisle with music. They had cocktail hour inside the library hall (full of delicious appetizers and — my favorite — lobster rolls!) and then headed to a tent out back for a very casual buffet reception. Perfection!
