Elizabeth + Bruce | Celebrate Life Session! | Maine Pet Photographer
You might remember Elizabeth & Bruce from their Ogunquit engagement session, or perhaps from their beautiful Vermont wedding! They got in touch with me again, but sadly this reason wasn’t an altogether happy one — they were looking to have photos done of their pup, Amelia’s, last few hours on earth. I was so touched that they would think of me for such a huge occasion, and I was honored to spend a couple hours with them at their home in Massachusetts. They had Elizabeth’s daughter and Bruce’s son come over and the 5 of them spent time cuddling, petting, laughing, playing in the stream outside, and reliving happy memories from Amelia’s long life. She was 16 years old — 10 of which she spent with Elizabeth — and sadly her health had quickly declined. She was at a point where she wasn’t going to get any better and Elizabeth and Bruce decided putting her down would be the most humane thing to do for her. It was such an emotional session — even more so now that I have a dog of my own — and I think it’s something that every family should have. For that reason, I’m offering these Joy Sessions 100% free of charge (aside from a travel fee if you’re over 30 minutes from Portland) — you can read more here. For now, enjoy these loving photos of a family and their dog.
