Carrie + Carter | Married! 10.06.11 | Reid State Park Wedding | Georgetown, Maine Wedding Photographer

This is Carrie & Carter! When Carrie first contacted me about their wedding, she described it as “neo-victorian with an earth based spirituality flair”. I couldn’t have said yes fast enough! Carrie and Carter were each others’ first love as teenagers, went their separate ways due to a move, and here they were, 20 years later and getting married. Love!!! She also contacted me a mere month and a half before their wedding… talk about last minute! But luckily I was available, and there’s photos to prove it.  😉 They had their ceremony outside at Reid State Park in Georgetown, Maine. It was a lovely beach ceremony — many guests were barefoot and just soaking in the beauty all around them. They also did a hand fasting during the ceremony, one of my favorite traditions. After that we took some portraits on the beach, and then headed to the nearby house they rented for the reception! The day of the wedding it was pretty windy out (and potentially going to rain at some point), so they switched it up from an outdoor, tented reception to an indoor one. Their friends and family came together in a pinch and helped, everyone carrying items inside and decorating. What an awesome group!
