Camp Mataponi Wedding in Naples, Maine | Jessie & Jake!
This Camp Mataponi wedding… well, I’m not even sure where to begin, because I loved it so freaking much! Firstly, Jessie and Jake. These two are so warm and loving and hilarious together, and they really have a knack for making everyone feel welcome. I felt so included in their group of family and friends, all of whom were having a BLAST spending time in their cabins for the weekend and adventuring on Sebago Lake! They met through friends back in 2009 and a few years later ended up at a friend’s birthday party. That really got them chatting, and before they knew it they were dating and then moving in together in Cambridge, Massachusetts! They knew they wanted to do a camp wedding. Partly because Jessie’s sister had done her own camp wedding in 2013 and Jessie had such warm, wonderful memories of the weekend — and then some friends of theirs did a camp wedding and it solidified the idea in their minds. They loved the idea that guests and family could see so much more of each other, and that the atmosphere is so much more laid-back — honestly, that’s why I love them, too! They had a gut reaction of YES! to Camp Mataponi and it’s obvious why: it’s an amazing location (outside of the city but close enough for folks staying in hotels), a gorgeous view of Sebago Lake, a beautiful reception hall, and the whole place just feels like home. The whole day I was just struck with how comfortable it was — I loved it! They had a lovely ceremony on the lawn, mingling and cocktails outside (on the perfect summery day), and then a casual reception indoors with BBQ and lots of dancing. 🙂 So awesome!
